31 days

as some of you may know, i just returned home from the influence conference.  i had an amazing experience, and though i am still processing my experience, one thing i felt the Lord was laying on my heart was to write more.  i have this blog, my own little space on the internet, and i struggle with finding time to really use it.  for a while i struggled with whether i should keep it going, but it was pretty clear to me this weekend that i am in fact supposed to keep it going.

i had recently heard about a blogging challenge from some of the influence girls hosted by the nester. it's called 31 days and basically is a challenge to choose a topic that you would blog on for the entire month of october.  wonderful for people who actually put time into their blogs.  seemingly impossible for someone like me who say wrote her last post over a month ago, right? yep, exactly what i was thinking.  until this morning.

when i felt the Lord impressing on me to take part in this challenge, i thought, there is no way.  there is no way that i could blog everyday.  i have nothing to talk about for 31 days.  who in the world wants to read my blog for 31 days?  excuse after excuse after excuse.

the idea of walking in freedom has been bouncing around in my head for quite some time and became a bit louder after this weekend.  what i sensed the Lord saying to me was the reason you don't want to take part in this is because of fear.  you're afraid of what others will think, you are afraid of failure, and perhaps, you are even afraid of what might be revealed in that time.  This, this fear, that is the opposite of walking in freedom.  This fear is something that has held you back your whole life, and it's time to let go and do some walking towards freedom.

so here i am making a list of all the things that cause fear to rise up in me and sorting out what it means to walk in freedom.

i invite you to join me on this journey.  throughout this time i hope to share my experiences at the conference and how this weekend impacted me.  i believe God is going to be doing a lot of work, and i look forward to sharing that with you too.
